I try to practice my French by keeping in touch online with my Francophone friends. On my laptop keyboard I used to have so much trouble adding accents that I would sometimes copy and paste them from French websites. To type French accents
There is no tutorial or learning curve with this software. Simply type the same letter 2 times, 3 times, 4 times… to produce the French accent you want. There isn't anything else to learn, really.
- — Press e twice to type é, three times for è …, etc.
- — Same for à ç î ô ù … and any other French accent.
To get ée, ee and ii: Simply type the first letter, press and release Shift, then type the second letter. That’s it.

Want to type in French? Turn ON EasyType French Accents. Switch back to English? Just turn it OFF. It's that easy.
To type French punctuation
This program has a feature that allows you to type French punctuation marks according to standard French typography.
- — Double-quotes are replaced with chevrons « … »
- — Press - (dash) twice to type — (em-dash)
- — Modern French typography is used by default. Otherwise, a space is added before ? ! ; :
